"Afternoon Delight" was one of Sue Garman's favorite patterns. This wonderfully scrappy quilt is truly a delight to make with its combination of simple appliqué and Double Nine-Patch blocks and modified Shoo Fly blocks. Each month you will work on pieced and appliquéd blocks, and in the final month, you will assemble the blocks and add the outer border. The finished quilt measures approximately 86 1/2" inches square.

Let's use this Topic "Afernoon Delight Show and Tell" as a place to show off your beautiful blocks. That way, you know where to come to see what everyone is doing.

The topics that apply to each month are a good place to ask questions or make suggestions for each block.

AND when you post your photos to Social Media, like Instagram, Facebook, etc., use either of these hash tags so everyone there will be able to find our wonderful work:

Hi! to Barbara and fellow BOM 2020 participants. I have been eagerly waiting for 1st January 2020 to roll around and have been avidly collecting fabrics. I have cut 25cm's of some, added other culled many and finally have decided on my fabrics. It is a motley bunch from my stash. I am so very happy with them. I guess time will tell. Good luck everyone. Robroe from Australia.

I have been collecting small scale reproduction fabrics. I ordered Shelbyville and Paula's Companions online. I also ordered a fat 8th set of Kansas Troubles Favorites, which came today. The Paula's Companions and the Kansas Troubles especially have some nice small scale fabrics also that I think will work.
Next step is to serge the edges and wash them.

Just printed the first month and looking through my fabrics. I just got Memoirs by 3 Sisters as Moda FQ set a jellyroll and a few yards of red and navy in it. I pulled out another Moda Summers End by Kansas Trouble Quilters jellyroll. It looks like more of the shade in this Memoirs. Then I just walked around and found more fabrics that would work. Here's the start.

I haven't made the past few BOMs but this one intrigues me. I will be using my stash so mine will be very scrappy. I actually won't choose my fabrics until we start! I'm hoping it will work out just fine.

I'm not sure if I will have the time to do this and I don't know what colours I should do but I thought I would try one. I think for me it is too tedious but the heat and bond worked. Not sure if that's the way I want.

Mailmanldy,
Would love to see a picture of your fabrics when the ones you ordered arrived. I love Grey, and I love the Grunge fabrics. Hoffman Digitals are gorgeous.
I have not yet started my fabric selection. Just enjoying seeing all things others are doing. I too have a lot of UFO's needing my attention. I love, love
love applique and piecing together in the same project. I have done a lot of it and I think you will get quickly addicted. So many different ways to
do applique. I am sure you will find one you love. If you have questions be sure to post them. There are alway so many different techniques get to
the same end goal, you will get lots of help if you need it. HelenW

I have decided on my fabrics. I am using a Grunge grey for my background, and then some Hoffman Digital prints Details in 10 different colors. The Hoffman fabric is a set of 8 FQs with a different design on each FQ sold as a "panel". That gives me more than enough fabric for what is recommended for the quilt, although not the blenders or solids as shown in the requirements. I'm still debating if I want to purchase some blender fabric, although Hoffman doesn't sell any that coordinates with this collection, so I may just stick with what I have, since it is more than enough total for the quilt. I do think the some of the prints will work for the applique, so I may not even need the blenders. I had to order some of the colors online as the store I bought them from didn't have all the colors, so I have to wait for them to be delivered. At least I can start cutting my background fabric, while I'm waiting for those, before I start deciding what fabric I want to use for the applique. I'm looking forward to working on this quilt as it will be my first quilt using applique.
