I got VERY brave and did not draw the lines for this template. All I did was put the template on the fabric and V...E...R...R...Y slowly used my rotary cutter to cut them out. I was afraid I'd nick the template, but I didn't. I made 2 January blocks and did it this way for both blocks and it came out perfectly. I should also note that I had 2 pieces of fabric together when doing this, so I was able to cut the entire 4 corners by only setting the template down twice. Hope that makes sense.
