Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month creative journey along America’s backcountry roads as we bring you "The Patchwork Barn Quilt," a fabulous quilt designed especially for TQS by Edyta Sitar. A spectacular medallion quilt featuring a barn nestled amongst rows of ‘crops’ (blocks). Edyta’s design inspiration was the result of observing the painted quilt blocks on the side of barns as she traveled across the country.

Known for her love of colorfully elegant scrap quilts, Edyta has this time, used her magic touch by combining a wide variety of blue and cream fabrics set against a creamy background. The resulting design is a stunning, but quieter scrap quilt that is sure to be a family favorite for generations to come. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns.

Barbara..you are a quilter's angel! Thanks so much. I think I can now construct

Unit A is the corner that will be half of the 6" finished block. The short sides should measure 3 7/8" and the long side, the bottom edge, should measure 5 3/8", as yours does. Center unit A to unit B and it will be the correct size--the tails that stick out are supposed to stick out.

How did I figure this out? I drew a 3" square on paper, drew a diagonal line down the middle, then drew 1/4" seam allowances around the 3 sides and measured to see what size Unit A is unfinished.

Has anyone tried sewing Block 22 of Edytar Sitar's 2018 BOM?
I noticed there are no measurements on Step 1 - finished Unit A. It just says
Make 12. I thought that the "bottom" of this Unit A triangle should match up
(in measurement anyway) with the "top" of Unit B. Unit B should measure 4-3/4" X 4-3/4".
My Unit A measures 5-3/8" (the "bottom" or longest edge of this unit). I know this probably
sounds very confusing (it sure does to me!). But hopefully, someone can explain to me
how to make Unit A and what the measurements should be. Thanks for any help.!!!
