Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month creative journey along America’s backcountry roads as we bring you "The Patchwork Barn Quilt," a fabulous quilt designed especially for TQS by Edyta Sitar. A spectacular medallion quilt featuring a barn nestled amongst rows of ‘crops’ (blocks). Edyta’s design inspiration was the result of observing the painted quilt blocks on the side of barns as she traveled across the country.

Known for her love of colorfully elegant scrap quilts, Edyta has this time, used her magic touch by combining a wide variety of blue and cream fabrics set against a creamy background. The resulting design is a stunning, but quieter scrap quilt that is sure to be a family favorite for generations to come. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns.

Josie, the pattern is now the property of Edyta Sitar and no one can give you the patterns--we must honor her copyright. I'm sorry you didn't see all the notices that the patterns were only available free to Star Members for printing or download until December 31, 2018.

The good news is, the patterns are for sale from Edyta's website for $25 or $20 for a downloadable PDF:

I purchased The Patchwork Barn Quilt (Crystal Farm) the second color way from you in October – I went to start it .. I had issues with my elderly mother & was unable to start it until now… anyway … I opened it & guess what – there is no pattern.

I did some research into this issue only to find out that the pattern was on TQS until Dec 2018 – now have all these beautiful fabrics & no pattern to0 make the quilt.

Please tell me that I can get this pattern some how. HELP – I love it so much

Are you asking about the 2017 BOM, Halo Star Medallion? Just as this year, I use the fabric I own, that I've selected over time, no specific fabric line. When asked "whose fabric is that?", I say "Mine--I bought it, I own it, I shop in my closet." The idea of using one fabric line only in a queen-size scrappy looking quilt isn't my style. Hope that answers your question.

The photo shows the fabrics I started with, I added more from fat quarter or smaller pieces over the year in all those same colors. The Focus fabric is at least 10 years old.

You can also use the Blue Sky fabrics as a guide in selecting Light, Medium and Dark fabrics from the Crystal Farms kit.

Are you going to produce pattern/fabric cutting instructions for the Crystal Farms kit? I'm wondering which fabric to use for the blocks. How will that work?
