Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month creative journey along America’s backcountry roads as we bring you "The Patchwork Barn Quilt," a fabulous quilt designed especially for TQS by Edyta Sitar. A spectacular medallion quilt featuring a barn nestled amongst rows of ‘crops’ (blocks). Edyta’s design inspiration was the result of observing the painted quilt blocks on the side of barns as she traveled across the country.

Known for her love of colorfully elegant scrap quilts, Edyta has this time, used her magic touch by combining a wide variety of blue and cream fabrics set against a creamy background. The resulting design is a stunning, but quieter scrap quilt that is sure to be a family favorite for generations to come. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns.

There is not a list for the Crystal Farms kit. Place the fabrics as they please you. Each month I will show blocks made by two of the Sunday Sew and Sews for inspiration. I hope everyone using this kit will share their blocks in the Show and Tell topic. There is no wrong way to use this fabric--pick light/medium/darks for contrast between pieces, everything goes.

Where can I find a list of fabrics and number to use for the second color way of this quilt? I have the fabric kit, but don't know which fabrics to use where!

Binah, I'll check with the two Sunday Sew and Sews who have the Crystal Farms kit, to see what amounts of light fabric is in the kit. I'll get back to you with suggestions then.

Each month I will post photos of which fabrics they chose for that month's blocks. It is such a beautiful fabric line.

I am late getting started, just ordered the alternate color way. After reading the forum found out there will be no instructions other than for the blue. I am ok with it now, however I am trying to figure out if I should use the 3/4 yard pieces as my background and when to use the 1/4 pieces. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you

I'm excited! Using scrappy blues from my stash but probably need to go get some more lights/neutrals.
