You are NOT crazy to take this quilt on. One step at a time, one piece, one block, one day at a time. Sue Garman was the most courageous, inspirational and encouraging teacher I ever had the pleasure and great fortune to know. Her designs are not made in a week-end. Isn't the complexity what drew you to it?
Sue made many quilts while she worked at NASA, raised her family, and designed patterns and fully participated in guilds. I have a chart somewhere, that Sue wrote which explained how to delegate and prioritize tasks in our day. I am inspired by her example. I am just getting started. Yes, that is what I said. I am cutting our and sewing block by block both the regular cotton and the batik.
But I only get to work on it a couple of hours a week. Am I crazy to take this on or should I just stash all that beautiful fabric? I am hoping it will only take me a full year to do both.
