As icing on the cake she has included flying geese rings and delectable mountain blocks. Once again Sue has created a quilt for you that is sure to be a family heirloom in your home.
I have finally finished the top. It took 2 years and a few other quilts inbetween, but I am very happy with it. This will be the first quilt that I send out for quilting.
I have enjoyed seeing all the quilts and colorways. It was quite a journey.
I am still amazed that someone would do this quilt at half-size. Mine is going on my bed ... hmmmm. Maybe I'll follow your lead at make a half-size for my wall. I hope your quilt does well. Just being selected is such an honor for you. Back when we all first started this BOM I remember you posting about a previous BOM that you did at half-size, which did very well at an AQS show. I have learned SO MUCH from the members of this forum, and Barbara, that this is the best money spent on quilting. Plus it's fun

Thanks, NanaPie. Yes, the quilt is half-size. I used embroidery floss on the cross-stitch and size 8 perle cotton on the pomegranates in the center triangles. There's no batik fabric in the quilt -- that multicolor fabric that looks batik is an old Laurel Burch from my shelves and from Ebay (I ran out and needed more). The stitching wasn't hard -- my technique with the perle cotton was stab-stitching.

Oh my goodness, Anabeth! How beautiful! Is it half-size? The cross stitch makes it even more special. Question: What size perle cotton and what size needle? And, was it hard to get it through the fabric? It appears that some of the fabric you used was batiks and that is why I ask. It has every one of my favorite colors in it. Very, very nice. Good luck at the shows.

My small version of Halo Medallion, with cross stitch along with some perle cotton quilting, will be in the AQS shows in Daytona Beach and Lancaster in Feb and Mar. If you go to one of the shows, say hi to her for me.
