That would be challenging! However, I have seen feathered star patterns in Quilt Mania that call for traditional piecing. The paper piecing pattern could be used to create templates for the diamond shaped tips and the G pieces. The half square triangles could be made larger and cut down to the measurement of those on the patterns (with the seam allowance).
Note that hand sewing might help align the many small pieces. :ohmy:

paper piecing has never been my forte--and I've tried all the different ways to do it--I wish there was a regular piecing directions for this quilt
