I had to set my Rajah Quilt project aside after completing month 4 in order to work on a (late!) graduation quilt and a crib quilt for a soon-to-be great niece. But I wanted to post to say that this month I received the Rajah Quilt book published by the museum. It is a nice way to commemorate the rediscovery and exhibition that featured the quilt and I am glad I bought it. It is definitely not an instructional or a coffee table sort of book. The book is small; the text is printed in very small type; and the pictures are small, though sometimes quite detailed. Since apparently very little of the history of the quilt is known, the book's narrative is brief and speculative. I hope that the monthly historical sketches and quilt pattern, etc., on TQS will be expanded upon and turned into a book at some point. It will probably hit the presses before my project is finally completed! So many quilts, so little time...
