Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month journey into the land of childhood memory with a charming quilt designed especially for TQS by internationally-known Australian designer Lynette Anderson. Lynette combines simple, unpretentious folk art style appliqué motifs with patchwork blocks for a quilt that will be lots of fun to make. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns. We will once again be offering monthly companion teaching videos as well. It all makes for a year of fun and learning!
It's my understanding that it's okay to leave in, even with a quilt that will be washed a lot. I haven't gotten to try this yet, so I don't have any personal experience. I assume this paper is like Ricky's Stable Stuff where it just gets thin and soft when it gets wet. If you are worried about it, I would take a piece of it and get it wet and see how it feels. That would give you an idea of what it will do inside your quilt.

Is the applique paper used in show 1601 appropriate to use in a quilt that will be washed many times as opposed to an art quilt? I've watched many episodes getting up my nerve to try applique, and this method seems the safest bet for a novice. Thanks for sharing your expertise and answering my query.
Carol
