thanks for the heads up. I'll mark the original measurements, but over-size the borders.

Hi Pam -
I agree. In an otherwise outstanding pattern, this border section is needlessly confusing. When I combine #3 from the top ten list from last December (tear strips 9-1/2" wide) in what I'm assuming is sky blue fabric #21, and the October instructions at the bottom of the first page (make 2 at 47-1/2" and two at 82-1/2") it sounds like - in a perfect world - the light blue border strips will be 2 @ 8-1/2" x 47-1/2" and 2 @ 8-1/2" x 82-1/2". Does that add up? That being said, whenever appliqué is involved, some extra length and width is always a good idea, with plans to trim to the correct size when the appliqué´is finished. I'm hoping there are better measurements when we get to the outer polka dotted border.
Best wishes,
Mike

Hi I just posted the same question "what size do we cut/tear the borders". In "10 things we need to know" Janet recommends tearing 4 x 9 1/2" strips lengthwise and trimming it later to the correct size. I didn't buy the fabric kit and I can't seem to find the length measurements.

According to Beverly, it's in "The Ten Things You Need to Know" in the Introductory lesson. Thanks, Beverly! I sure didn't know.

Found it! The color list was in the introductory chapter - right after the photo of the Magnifico threads - duh!
Next question - where are the sizes of the light blue borders listed? I see where it says to starch and trim them down, but I can't find where the original cut size is listed. Can anyone help?
Best wishes,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I love the quilt behind you in your profile picture. I used the pink (fushia?) thread for the G, and red for the O and O star, both out of the Magnifico set.

Hello friends -
I'm sure I missed the discussion - but what color did you choose to blanket stitch the G, O and O star? My plan was to wait until all letters were finished before blanket stitching, and then do them all at once. Great plan, except now I can't find those colors in the instructions. I'm assuming fuchsia for G and red for O and O star - but I'm interested in what everyone else did. Thanks.
Best wishes,
Mike
