Looks like I cut 6 strips that were 72inches long from the selvidge edge. Once I knew the width was 45 inches I cut the smaller strps from the 72 inch strips. I have a piece of the confetti that is about 40 x22 left to finish the letters. Should be enough, but maybe just barely.
I am keeping my fingers crossed. Jansk44 Janet from STL

There were partial directions in a post somewhere. Now that we have aug I guessed that 10 strips would be enough. I was being very careful with using just one side of that fabric and nof doing any sashing. Now I will play catch up!

I am not sure where I got the measurements, or if I had measurements. I just wanted to cut the strips along the selvidge edge before I cut into that fabric. Nice long strips. I don't remember how many long strips I cut.

Was there something about that in Janet stones show? Was it in the instructions? Am I the only one who did that?

I am out of town and do not have access to my sewing room, or any notes I may have made back in January. I may have just guesstimated the longer ones by looking at the finished quilt.

Hope someone else can be more helpful. I will try to get more info to you when I get back home.

Thanks everyone. I will hold off doing those letters like you suggested....then see if enough fabric is there. I have people watching as i am making this quilt. some said they would never attempt to make it. some are in awe of the quilt. I am loving the quilt....can't wait till it is done..then to decide how it should be quilted...

I ordered the quilt kit and it looks like I will have enough fabric to make all the letters in the black confetti. I did cut all my sashing strips first and like Lorna, squeezed in all the letters. Hope it works for you.

My guess is you will have enough. I've always had some left over fabric. On this quilt I have not cut out the square or rectangle as indicated. I just squeeze in the pattern and cut it out. Not worried about grain since it is fused down and blanket stitched. You could also not do the letters at this point. Save them up until the end and then pack them together and cut them out together.

Hi there:

I didn't buy the kit either. I just bought the amount of fabric for the black that she told us to buy.
Sooooo my guess is, I won't have enough of the confetti black that I bought.....(sigh) I will just
use regular black if need be. :)

Like you I am keeping all my individual letters the same colour (black), though I didn't purchase a kit to make the quilt, as I'm trying to use some of my stash. On the most recent forum post "Not enough fabric", Susan has given the information needed to source extra kit fabric online using fabric numbers. Susan has also provided a link to the Shoppe and I'm sure they or Janet (Stone) should know if there is enough black fabric to make the TQS letters in black. Hope this helps you.

I am getting ready to cut the blocks for July. I would love to know if we have enough black fabric as well for those three letters...

I want them to be consistant..... also, I see there is a problem with The "T" block...glad i didn't cut anything yet...thanks for the heads up ladies......

I get why the T, Q, & S Blocks are made in green...(The Quilt Show), however, I would prefer them to be black like the other letters. Is there enough fabric in the kit to allow me to make them out of the black? I really don't want to be caught short. :)
