The center square should measure 1" after the strips are sewn around it, and the strips should each measure 1/2" finished. If you have 4 strips on each side, that should come out to 5 1/2", or 5" finished. As Rita suggested, check your seam allowance and the size you cut the strips.

Reetzbobeetz OFFLINE Posts: 4193 Thank you received: 209	Hi Michaela, Is it possible that your seam allowance is too big? I used a paper piecing method (got a template from about.com and just left out the last row of logs to finish at 5.5") which was much easier.
