Andree, after stitching your batiks you could try putting a drop of water on the stitching holes and giving it a small circular rub - I have found that usually quite good for closing up stitch marks.
I'll try that tonight! Thanks!

Has anyone that is attempting the half size version of the BOM decided on the size of the blanket stitch for the applique letters ?
I just can't decide on what looks good :?
I'm still playing with my Janome... But since the letters are narrow, and mine are done with batiks, I want to be able to use a fine needle - I'm looking for a 60wt thread, or even finer thread (100wt silk maybe)... I have to buy online, since there is nothing of that in my area... :( I tryed the double blanket stitch with Aurifil mako 50 wt cotton, but I found it is too bulky, and make too big holes (80 needle). And I also tryed with single blanket stitch, and didn't like the result - again, because of the holes it made.
As soon as I find my "recipe", i'll let you know.

I kept saying I am not playing this year but Andree's directions and pic were so great I thought why not so I went looking in my stash and burned the gift certificate I got for Christmas and got enough to make full size. I can't resist temptation for quilting or chocolate. Joan

I decided to half size mine too! I bought the kit so I'm planning on making two half-sized. I am also hand appliquéing the letters and adding bits of wool here and there. We'll see how it goes - I'm excited! The Army Star block was a bit of a challenge but the other two weren't so bad. I'm having fun!

I really love the new BOM, but I'm feeling kinda lost since it didn't take weeks to complete. So....I think I'm gonna do one using Andree's half size directions. And I'm gonna copy Dorothy's pink version because my Granddaughter will love it on her bedroom wall.

There, I have more BOM sewing to do, I feel better :D

Andree,
I also have EQ, so I printed one from there. But thank you for asking!

Andrée,
your directions and photos are great. Thank you! I have not yet decided to play, but if I do, I would like to go with the smaller version! :D
