I am tough on sewing machines. Not tough physically but tough in my opinion of them. I purchased my first ever Bernina a couple of weeks ago (the 450), and today did some serious piecing with her. I am simply amazed at the difference in machines. My Viking cannot come close to the perfect stitching this machine does and I love how quiet she is. I think some of the perfect stitching has to do with the type of bobbin area.
I'm not very good at using the knee thingy yet but I'm sure I will get better. I've never had one with this feature before but I can see how useful it will be once I can do it without thinking.
The only thing I wish would have come with her is a printed manual along with the CD. I'm old fashioned and like to read about my machine instead of sit in front of the computer and read the screen.
Anyway, wanted to say how wonderful this sewing machine is just in case anyone else out there is thinking about getting this particular model.
Im looking forward to seeing the new anniversary model, too. My favorite quilt shop just received a shipment and I plan to visit them soon. You probably already know this but the new machine is now shown on the Bernina USA website. It looks great!
