Thanks, Ladies! I called my dealer's repair person--she said that all the previous updates are always in the latest firmware updates. So, I followed the instructions to put the unzipped firmware on a USB stick and did the update (while I held my breath!!! ). And, it worked!! I even have lots of new stitches and embroidery motifs!!! Whew!!! I can even use the new midi-hoop now!

I agree that you should ask your dealer. But get the updates. They have built-in safety features that can keep you from accidentaly damaging your Bernina, resulting in expensive, time-consuming repairs.

I would ask a Bernina dealer that question.

I have a Bernina 830--that was purchased Jan. 2013. I have not installed any updates since then. I just got an email from Bernina that a new firmware update was available to make the machine recognize the newest presser feet.

So, my dilemma is: will I be messed up if I install this update, but have not installed the previous ones first?
