Thanks for your reply. The bobbin winder was not in the 'go' position. I guess that you're right in that the new machines do make strange noises! My old 440 sounded normal! The stitching is fine, no problems there. I will be going to the Bernina HQ in London for a ' get to know your new machine'.They provide the same machines so I will be able to compare and ask questions there. I'll update this post after I've been. In the meantime I'll turn up the volume on my radio!!! Thanks again.

Make sure the bobbin winder is not in the "go" position. The new electronic machines do make some strange noises. When in doubt, take it back to the dealer & have them listen. Unfortunately, sometimes, it's like the child who's temperature goes down as soon as she walks int he doctor's office.

My 730 had a very high pitched sound that I only heard when free-motion quilting. It comes and goes and the techs never hear it...music, audio books, tv, anything to cover up the noise!

I've only just got the 750QE. My query is that it seems to have a high pitched 'singing' sound when I'm in BSR mode. Is that normal? Any help appreciated.
