How about "Nutty", a bit of hommage to Frank's business, Pam. :)

And if you want to go with the initial thing, you could consider "Bella" which means beautiful, and would be very appropriate to your lovely machine.

Pam, My 1998 1630 Bernina is "Bernie", my 1999 Pfaff Serger is "Speedy" and my 1947 featherweight is "Inky." I'm not too original and I know that "Bernie" is getting tired!

Roseanne, I must admit that I haven't really thought about a name for my new friend yet. I know that a lot of people give them female names but the first names that come to mind were either Frank, as he is the dealer I bought it from or Ricky2 as he is the one who inspired me to need the double blanket stitch. Any other suggestions would be more than welcome :-) :-) :-)
Pam,
I own three machines and two are boy machines. They have to tell you what they are after you get them home.
One of mine is Wilcox (the serger), one is Gibbs (the Bernina 830) and my nice old Bernina 1230 is Betsy. I also have an antique White that is Eli come to think of it. Hmmmm.

Pam, Congratulations on your new to you machine. I'm glad you have bonded early and love the stitches that your new machine can produce.

Congratulations Pam! I recently treated myself to a preloved Bernina Virtuosa 153 QE Alex Anderson version for my 60th birthday which is this year. I stopped at the Bernina store down the street to pick up some thread and came home with the machine! I have only done the regular blanket stitch so far. Makes a very pretty stitch.

Have fun and Happy Birthday!

OK Pam - now I want to see pics of your Rhapsody quilt. I haven't even touched mine. Congrats on the new machine.

Pam~ First of all, Happy 60th Birthday :!: :!: I know I've joined this thread late, but wanted to let you know that I have been sewing on a Virtuosa 153QE for well over 10 years
(my 50th birthday present from my husband) and I love it as much today as I did when he gave it to me. It's a real work horse of a machine. You did good!!! :D

I followed Lorchen's advice and started to look at UK Bernina dealers webistes with the intention of contacting them as I knew that used Bernina machines are like gold dust and it could take a long time to find what I wanted. I found a 'coming soon' post on http://www.franknutt.co.uk which has only just gone on. I contacted them immediately and am now the proud owner of a preloved Bernina Virtuosa 153QE. :D :D :D It is a good 10 years old but it does the most AWESOME double blanket stitch for my applique and I LOVE it! I am doing the happy dance today! DH bought this for me for my 60th birthday next January, but I am allowed to have it now. :D :D :D He is a keeper.

Pam, Happy Birthday! What a special treat to have found a machine that has just what you wanted. Can't wait to see what you and your new buddy create. Have fun! Lois

Congrats, Pam. There is nothing like a machine, that does what you ask it for. Oh - maybe a DH like yours is a bit better better :D :D :D
