If you want to avoid catching your thread in the embroidery tensioner, don't pull your thread along the front of the bobbin casing from left to right. This close up photo might help explain what you don't want to do:

For regular sewing, just slide the thread into the bobbin slit and move it to the left to the thread cutter.

I will admit that my eyes are not what they used to be but does anyone have a great tip for sucessfully threading the 830, without the thread slipping into the embroidery slot. I think that I have watched the machine video & the simulator so many times that my eyes are deceiving me-still no luck! You would think that I just purchased my machine but no I have had it almost 2 years & yes I love it. Searching for helpful answers! :roll:
