Now I am truly depressed  after seeing the photos and description. Not only is my recent $$$ purchase only 3 months old, the trade in on my exisiting will be much less when the new model will be available in 2009 in Europe. The new model also appears to answer some of the issues I have with the 630E. I am going to go and sulk for awhile.

Did you all see the pictures yet?

It looks so neat, but my only worry is, will it fit in my cabinet?
I'd hate to go through the added expense of a new cabinet on top of this $ for the new machine...
Guess we just need to wait and see

I was at a show over the weekend and someone at the Bernina booth had the new bobbin and was showing it...... yes bigger and better!!!! :!: :!: Maybe the list posted above it true!!!! :!: :!: Either way, my birthday is in September and I have started to be really nice to my husband. And he gave me the green light to get it! :D :D :D .... with the caviot that he was sure I would be understanding when he found something new for his toy box (but to expect the toy box to be really big!) LOL! I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the webcast! :D Mary Kay

Here's a cool "free" pattern for a lunch sack bag. They are fast and fun to make...

I've heard from $500 more than the 730 (my response - yah right :D ) to over $10,000. I know the new Viking is $9000 so I expect the Bernina to be higher. So, you are probably pretty close. I'm anxious to see what the machine has to offer - not that I'm buying now - but I can dream. I'm not going into debt for my hobbies when I have a machine that is great - but I do wish it had a larger throat and some of the features of the new top of the line machines. I will learn to be satisified with what I have - key word - learn.

who is now going back to my machine to make more totes to use instead of plastic bags.

That is what I am making for Christmas gifts this year.

It sounds like they took every wish of a quilter and put it into this machine. I am afraid to even look at it because mine is new and I can't even think of replacing it. I have many features on my machine I haven't even used yet. The larger sewing space sounds wonderful. I can get that by getting a drop in desk.

My LQS owner (Tomorrow's Heirlooms in Westminster, CO) is a Bernina dealer and she just headed to KY (?) for the unveiling of the new Bernina!!! I am meeting with her when she gets back to hear all about the new machine and start considering whether I am ready for another Bernina :D :D :D . I also registered for the webcast - it will be exciting to see the new machine! Mary Kay

That was very disappointing news, that we will have to wait until next year for the new maching here in UK!!!! | SOB! MInd, I doubt that I could afford when anyway, and am really happy with the 630 that is only about a year old, still, this new machine sounds fabulous and I can wait to see what new features it has.

PS, will be going to show in Aug, so will keep you posted on any news I find out.

Alex, Thank you for finding out that interesting piece of information. I'll just have to keep tuned into TQS and BerninaUSA.com to hear the reviews then check out the Bernina exhibition at the Swiss "Home" show in the fall.

From my dear friend who works in Switzerland -

"The machines won't be launched in Europe until 2009. I introduced the machines to the importers last week."

I spoke to a dealer here in Michigan. Said is was larger harp and $500 more than the current top of the line. I figured about $8k. Ouch. Might as well get a long arm and keep using my 153 that I love.
