Sorry you're still struggling Eileen but not surprising when you've had so much thrown at you. I hope you manage to note something positive down every day it really does cheer you up looking back, no matter how small.

I was reading your blog Terry and followed the links. I came across Black Journaling which was an interesting concept. You use a tear out page or separate notebook and if you have negative thoughts you write down a phrase on what it is. Then you go to think why am I feeling this and write that down, then keep tunnelling back to what happened and why until you get to the root cause. Just let it all flow out. Then most importantly you tear out the page and tear it up and throw it away (don't need to eat it).
I tried this about something I did some years ago and always feel bad about it and ashamed even though it was well intentioned. I wrote several pages really quickly never read what I'd put, but after I'd torn it up I was able to forgive myself and wrote in my BJ next to a heart 'be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself'.
So thank you for that link and I'm sorry I can't find the blog to share it.
Loved reading your evaluation.

I had a good first month using the bullet journal. I too have decided color coding the index will help me when I need to find items at a glance. I shared a few photos and wrote a post about my first month. You can check it out here. I'm ready to see how September goes!

I don't have a lot of entries in my journal as yet. I'm still taking it kind of slow. I haven't even been released to drive since my surgery. I'm just dabbling with my quilting right now. I belong to a couple of BJ groups on FB, and saw a weekly spread I'm going to try. I'm still having trouble focusing since my Mom's passing as well.

Wendy,
I wanted to use up my current planner/journal, so I’m going to use your idea of color coding the index entries. That should help with finding things. It’s nice to have online friends that share the possibilities, I learn so much through TQS, much of which isn’t only related to Quilting.
Thanks for the idea

Yes I was thinking my index is a bit chaotic after only a month but I don't think that is the answer for me. Think I'll colour code it to make it easier to scan and then can review. Be interested to see if it works for you Luann.

I've found it great using my journal. My task list and info are all in one place and super useful for meetings. I love being able to use it as a mini diary as well and glad I've included a positive moment each day. Makes me giggle when I look back at some notes. Things not so great are putting tasks in for specific days, I feel irritated when I don't do them so I think more things are likely to stay on the monthly to do list and fished off when done or I'm more certain I'll get them done on a specific day. Only a minor thing though.
I do more exercise than I realise by tracking it, no wonder I'm knackered, that and days with Grandson have done me in!

Nice new pages set out neatly for September. How are the rest of you doing? :cheer:

Something that’s been bugging me about my journaling is the index! It has become a crazy, mixed up mess! I have to read through them to find what I called something, before I can go to the page I’m wanting. Today, as I was reading another 'journaling' blogger's post I found a method that will definitely help me in the future. Use categories to separate the entries. I took a screen shot of her page, so hopefully you can check it out if you’re so inclined.

I had a great time at The Festival of Quilts. I found Rosemary who turned up unexpectedly and Lorchen. Hugs delivered and sent back to all.
Spent Sunday stewarding and playing Quilt Police. The only time people were touching quilts was my one so that was ok but it was great spending time chatting about the quilts and helping people
Oh what quilts! Betty Busby and Noriko Endo and many others.
Lorchen says hi

Wow! You guys are having fun on this topic!

I'm going to watch and see what happens. I'm busy going through boxes of my mother's stuff, so I won't be able to begin a journaling book. But I've always enjoyed journaling.

Wendy, if you see any of our "gang" please say hello and give them a hug for me. I sure miss them. Speaking of, I was wondering if anyone has heard from Ritzy, Limbania, and others.

Smoky and hot here, 112 degrees yesterday. Ugh!

Started a + quilt with the hand dyes I did a few weeks ago. Monday I shall go to my friend Jo's and do some ice dyeing. I plan to ice dye an old tablecloth I inherited from my mom. It'll make Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners more fun!

Hugs to you all.... geneva

Say "hello" to Lorchen and any others you may see...hoping for site improvement, too! Weather here has been horrid! Very hot and
very smokey from fires nearby and in California and Oregon. 111 degrees yesterday and 100 + today...I've had enough! AC is good though!

I will Lotti, she'll love that.
Put FOQ in your Future Log Lotti then it'll happen. I must look out for others Sunday who used to meet up. Maybe Pam, Rita or oh dear I can't remember names. :) :) :)
