You just saved me! My latest project has a black background and I wanted to layer wool over cotton for dimension. Even though I have no intentions of laundering it, I wouldn't want wool wisps finding their way out the to Play!
I had a wool batt, many years ago, that the quilt got the nickname of, The Hairy Quilt. It was actually tied, not stitched for the quilting, so after a few months I took it apart and gave the fibers to a spinner.
I'm going to try two layers of the black poly from Quilters dream that I have.

I just finished a quilt using quilters dream WOOL batting, and when I washed it the batting came out through the fabric (bearding x 100)
It is a problem the company is aware of. If you have already used it in a quilt dry clean instead of washing it. It was a bad run of batting they got in June...it has been fixed.
