Just found out that my miniature quilt came second in the challenge, voted on by visitors to the guild stand :woohoo:

Heather, just because you have no intention of doing miniatures, is no reason to avoid enjoying viewing them (unless you have run out of time & your feet are killing you). I admit that I didn't spend much time looking at the art quilts at FoQ, as they are not really my thing, but then trying to see 700 quilts in one day is hard work and you have to be a bit choosy with your time. Also it was your Argyll quilt that gave me the inspiration to look at argyll patterns for the challenge, as we were only allowed to use diamond shaped pieces. I even tried the diamonds sideways, but they didn't want to for this piece.

Dawn & Renata, thanks for posting (again) the pics of your Hoffman quilts -- they both are just stunning!!!! well deserved wins, both of you! Congratulations!

Rosemary, love your mini!! I usually don't even look at minis in the shows, because such gorgeous work on such a small scale intimidates me beyond belief. I know I'm missing out on seeing some amazing stuff, but....maybe now I'll wander those aisles this year, now I have seen yours. You do such beautiful work!

Geneva, your FQs are stunning! Dyeing is one thing I'd like to do, that I haven't, that I'm not sure if I will or not. Much less messy to "dye" with my wallet (aka, buy hand-dyes/batiks from the people who already do it...). :P

I'm putting binding on my son's graduation quilt, which is slow going. It's on the front, I'm hand sewing to the back (and already a few spots where I've poked through a stitch or two....aargh! Not fixing it, though; it's not going into shows, and it won't be obvious once on the bed....), and then gearing up for school. One more week before class starts!

Geneva, I love your layout of the dyed fabrics! :)

In 2010, I had several classes in my backyard on fabric dyeing. It was fun. A ton of set-up work but my son & husband helped. We only have a bit of summer so I can't have a set-up all the time. And really... who would keep coming?!! Several ladies still talk about it at one of the guilds.

Yummy Geneva.

Hi Ritzy how's things :)

Ritzy is doing very well. I have had the opportunity to spend time with family. Wonderful time together. I am not a person who does well with entertaining but luckily my family doesn't expect it. Beccah's boys are so sweet--no really--they are well behaved children. Amber's family are almost adults. I got to visit with my brother's family and spent some quality time teaching his girls card games(never underestimate the time spent playing with kids).

Loren is doing extremely well and, as I am sure you all know, when the family is healthy--all is well in our world. Hugs to you all my friends.

I have been away for a while. I had 84 post to read! Dawn and Renata, congratulations on your wins. Rosemary, your mini quilt is great. I am amazed at how you can do work this small. Wendy, thanks for sharing your pictures from the FoQ.
Lotti, loved your pictures. Looked so restful. How far did you have to hike to take them?
Can't remember what all else I read, but will try to stay on top of things now.
