Dawn, it's beautiful!

Joyce, can't wait to see what you come up with for quilting the deer panel for your customer.

I enjoyed the extra virtual champagne ;) and we survived the weekend of high school boys! Eight boys + the college student leader, plus myself, dh and our 10 yr old --- it was a busy weekend! MUCH food was consumed (only one meal was "officially" meant to be eaten at our house, but anyone who has or has ever had teenage boys knows.....we went through a lot of food!), and much fun was had. These teens were all very polite, cleaned up after themselves, kept the volume to a pleasant level, really nice house guests to have. We will likely do this again next time --- at the same time, thankful it's only once a year!

Today I run a million errands, then maybe sew in the afternoon. Hopefully a stop at Lowe's (hardware store) to get the board to use for a design board (I forget what it's called...the lightweight foam core board stuff). I've realized I had better not sew these blocks together until I see them laid out, so I can really get the placement/movement of the light to dark water right.

Dawn,
Your license plate is soooo nice. Did you put a piece of organza over the confetti? I've not tried this technique, YET.

I took a break, after making around 300 circles for my Hoffman Challenge, and did a quick mini for our LQS license plate contest. I hand painted the trees with Sharpie markers, and did confetti cutting for the rest. I love how it turned out. The best thing is, I did it quickly! Which is unusual for me!!! The public votes on their favorite. I'll know how it did by the end of March.

I still have a bit of cutting to do for a mystery quilt but I'm nearly done.

I've finished sanding on an old treadle machine yesterday and plan to just finish it with a rub/oil today. I'm glad my husband brought the electric sander to the house and I could use that. Slick!!! :cheer:

I would like to use it as a table in our main living area to hold my featherweight. Then it will be nearby and upstairs for a bit of piecing in the dark nights.

Dorothy, I just received a customer quilt top in on Friday with the deer panel in attic windows! I thought it seemed so familiar to me... yes, from here. She wants it custom quilted so it will take a lot of time of thinking and revving my motor (much encouragement) to get that one!

Thanks. I was surprised to see it when I signed on. It's one of the few quilts I made from someone else's pattern and the one that inspired my Confetti miniature quilt. I actually made it to show a different way of piecing the nine patch blocks with my seam guide and was going to teach a class but that never happened. The attic window quilt looks great! I need to make one of those.

Annis - Awesome quilt of the day!!
Dorothy - The attic windows top turned out great!
Dawn - I wondered how you'd applique your circles too.

Yes, Annis, that is a beautiful quilt! I really like the lotus blossom!
Geneva, such a sweet little face! Thanks for sharing that one!
Dorothy, great use of a great northwest panel!
Terrie, I will be hand appliquèing the circles. First, one to another, so when I am done I will have one big, floppy, whole unit. Then I will set that unit onto the background, and appliqué around the outer edges. I can then remove all background from behind the appliqué. That is how I did my jester for last year's challenge. Kind of a funky way to appliqué, but it works for me.

Wow Annis your quilt is lovely. Glad to see it has red in it!

Fun quilt Dorothy, great way to use that fabric.
