Love that primitive piece, Luann! It looks really good!!
I mailed off the baby quilt, and the mom received it and LOVES it!!! yay!!!! It truly is my best work yet, although I had a realization --- thus far, I've said that about every quilt. And I realized --- that is good!! Means I really am learning as I go, improving, etc. yay!
That said, I haven't been over to the county fair yet to see if I managed a ribbon or not (I doubt it; my "personal best so far" still isn't quite show-level or ribbon level, even at a county fair I don't think). But realizing what I did, that I am improving, now it doesn't matter to me if I did or not
Then I have taken a break from quilting to (gulp!) sew garments -- pajamas -- for the Quiltapalooza PJ Party at Houston next month. I am NOT a garment maker, at all, but managed a kimono top (easy tutorial I found on-line) and a cross-over sleeveless (important part, that.....) top for the pjs, out of a very stubborn & difficult ruffled stretchy fabric. The ruffles really did not like going across the zig zag plate opening, at all, and kept wanting to get caught in the teeth. However, the top came out, fits me well, is comfortable, and doesn't look bad until you get close enough to see the messy "topstitching"
Kimono fabric is sheer with royal blue & turquoise/aqua, though it doesn't show well in this photo.
Up next, :gulp!: the pants......that will be started today and hopefully not take too long.....we shall see. Hopefully they fit as well as the top does when I'm done....
