The owner of a beautiful quilt shop here in Virginia uses a white or cream thread when doing allover quilting on the sample quilts she hangs in her shop. Exception: If the quilt is dark, she uses a darker neutral thread. Her quilts always look great.

When I send a quilt to my longarmer I have always told her I can handle white or cream thread on dark fabric but not dark thread on light fabric. Test the thread laying on the fabric. Joan

I've recently finished a red and white quilt top sort of Burgoyne Surround, and am just not sure how to quilt , any ideas , the original pattern was quilted with a large meandering pattern also two light colors that were similar so one thread color was ok , mine not sure I want red thread on white fabric or vice versa, any ideas?
