Rosemary, I finally gave myself permission to cut big and trim. I decided this was preferable to the agony of various sized blocks that made me grimace (and say naughty things), thereby causing my face to look years older than it should. Plus, using up all the fabric creates the need to buy more fabric! See, a win win all around. I look years younger  and get to buy more fabric. What more can we want from life?

Can't wait to see your quilt with it's additions.

Catching up - all my log cabins are done and sliver trimmed to (nearly) perfection  and economy squares just need their last corners adding - I made life easier for my self by cutting the first set of triangles 4.5" instead of 4.25" and trimmed them down too - oh the extravagance of fabric waste, how will I be able to cope!said in a very melodramatic voice :P

I did finish my March clue the other day. I tried to post a picture, but I am not very techy. I can't figure out how to get it from my phone to the computer. I did import it, but can't find it now. I do have some mp3 music I didn't have before.  Oh well DSIL will be here tomorrow and he will help me. Hope you all have a quilty weekend.

The thing is, I had 'tried out' several months of this quilt before deciding that the clues and the pattern would work for a MQ. I think I did about 5 months in one weekend, so be encouraged (to myself and you all), you can do it!

Terrie, can you apply those 14 non sewn log cabin blocks to "practice".

I hate when that happens. Maybe you could look at it as you "get to" enjoy working on your mystery quilt even more than the rest of us. B)

Not good! That is a lot of 'air sewing'.

Working up to cutting strips for the log cabins in clue 5 - how many 1 1/4" strips do I need to cut (approximately) of each fabric?
