Sorry if I confused anyone as I did not mean that Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt is in a current book..... I just meant she post the mysteries starting on BLACK FRIDAY after Thanksgiving and runs the mystery usually til NEW Years Day. The clues stay up until the first of June then she takes them down. She encourages everyone to participate as she posts and cautions everyone to print out the directions before she takes them down.

In the past couple of years the MYSTERY QUILTS are then published as a pattern in a book. I do not think Soltice has been published yet. Bonnie publishes her books frequently and I would be very surprised if she did not have a new one out some time late this year or next. I think she has released a new book yearly for the past couple of years. Go to her web site and email her .... she usually will answer questions like that.... When she does be sure to post the information here.

Bonnie's latest book, More Adventures with Leaders and Enders, has Easy Street in it, but not Celtic Solstice. I'm guessing LadyRags is getting the two mixed up. Easy Street is her mystery from the previous year.

Wow, Lady, thanks for that information. I inquired about the Celtic Solstice but was told that it would be in an upcoming book. Do you happen to know which book that is? That information would really help. I'm beginning to wonder if it's okay to ask someone to email me their directions. I've seen a drafting picture of it online, but would have to make up all the measurements myself. Not impossible, as I love that kind of stuff, but not sure about the yardages.
I like the row by row quilt thing, I I'd like to make one someday.

In the meantime, I'm scrolling through books and magazines to see what might work. The thing is, if it's not a 'free' pattern, I don't want to violate copyright.

BONNIE uses the mystery quilts to pattern test for books .... Solstice is in one of her recent books.

Been seeing some of the ROW by ROW quilts pattern being run as a mystery by some of the shops that host ROW by ROW .... you come into the shop get pattern in package and pick up kits for blocks.... Most shops have wide selection of kits that coordinate..... When you sign up for mystery you get fabric put aside to make all the blocks. I have not done this yet as have too many projects in progress..... but it sounds like fun.

I've only done one mystery quilt and have just started my second. Both have been Facebook groups from Sharon Blackmore of Prairie Quilt Mercantile and now Love Shack Quilts (Prairie Quilt Militia).

This is my first one.

The one I am just starting is scrappy.

Steps are released every two weeks.

I don't generally give away the stuff that I'm making for myself. I just don't seem to be able to finish anything that's for me!

Thanks, Nancy! It was a lot of fun to do--the irony is that, as soon as I finished it, I gave it away! One of my sisters loved it so much I gave it to her. No regrets there but I still need to make a quilt for our bed. I never seem to be able to hang on to anything I make...

It's beautiful, Renata!! I wish I had joined in on that one, but maybe someday I'll go back and do it. The other one that I really like is Easy Street.

I love the Celtic Solstice and Nancy your version is gorgeous. I might just try to get the pattern one day and just do it! Although...I think I remember seeing a pattern that is similar...just have to find it.

Remember that this Mystery I'm doing won't begin until the fall and you only get one clue a month, so anyone who wants to join from here, I think you'd have no problem doing it.
