I wouldn't let the name stop me from using any color I wanted for a quilt. Is it Quiltmaker magazine that always shows their quilt patterns in a different color way, despite what the designer named it and what they used. Makes an amazing difference!

That is why I do not want to use the pattern name "Autumn Star", because I am doing the quilt in pink and blue--and autumn seems like an inappropriate name to use for this pattern. Perhaps "golden chains" will turn out to be the pattern name that I will be able to use. Thanx!--Nadia

I wish I were more computer savvy, but I don't know how to put a photo on this website. I'll just get the Brackman encyclopedia of quilt patterns, and check it out. Thanx for all your advice! -- Nadia

Found Autumn Stars in Barbara Brackman's book "Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns". Not sure if this is the same pattern but it also goes by the name Golden Chains. Can you send us a picture?

Perhaps if you tell us whose pattern you are following it would help. When I've looked the patterns refer to the colouring rather than the name of the star

I just found online a quilt kit called Autumn Star -- it is red and beige... it has a single eight-pointed star in the middle, and if that is what you are referring to, it looks like an Ohio Star to me. Hope this helps.
