Renata, if you Google "Swoon Quilt" you will have an idea, but I still want to see Michelle's version!

So glad you'll be posting photos of blocks from the Swoon Quilt, Michelle, because I have NO IDEA what a Swoon Quilt is! I suppose I could look it up on the internet but seeing your blocks will be by far better! :D

Well besides shopping, laughing, eating and socializing, I did manage to get a bit of sewing done! LOL

I am making a Swoon Quilt for my nephew and his new wife as a wedding quilt. They love purple, so that's what they are getting! I managed to get 3 blocks done and I'll try to post pics of them today. Each block is 24" so it takes a bit of time to sew one.

Two of the jelly rolls are Edyta's Over The Rainbow Batik fabrics - a neutral roll and a blue/green roll. Then one roll is all Kaffe fabrics, and the last roll is a line called Tickle, which is happy bright graphics. Not sure what quilts these will become but at least I am prepared!! LOL

Thank you so much for that link!! It makes so much sense!

I just returned from my guild's yearly retreat and while there, I just had to buy 4 jelly rolls from a vendor who came!! I think three of them are pinked, and I never even gave it a second thought!

Great link, Rita. I have used that trick a few times using 2-1/2" strips. My small Guild does a swap of them at our Christmas party every year. The strips are not always 2-1/2"

Thanks for the link Rita, it is exactly the sort of thing that I would do, If I had got into using jelly rolls to any great degree (which I haven't yet, but who knows? - I just hope I remember at the relevant time  )

That's me, Rosemary... I had already forgotten this link once!
Forgetting the link is neither here nor there - forgetting the idea/technique, now that would be a nusiance.

True, Rosemary! But I'd have to try the technique in order to remember it--the idea, I would forget right along with the link... I'm banking on someone on the Forum remembering...

I have found Brenda Henning's method helpful when dealing with jelly rolls. I know it doesn't mention ones that have been pinked but I guess you could use the same method?

Nancy, Diane and Bruce are great--theirs is the only jelly roll I've bought because I feel confident about what they said about how they make their jelly rolls. I have lots of SewBatik fabric because I really love working with it. It's funny, when I go to a show, theirs is the first booth I run to to stock up and to say hello--they are both so gracious and they do remember their customers! :D
