TOPIC: Is a jelly roll equal in size to a bali pop?

Re: Is a jelly roll equal in size to a bali pop? 12 Aug 2012 21:10 #86106

went quilt shopping last Saturday, found some Bali pops. They are 40 -2 1/2 in strips in a package. The jelly rolls I have bought are the same but there is also something that the quilt shop owner called a "sushi roll" which is 20-24 - e 1/2 in strips. So I quess you can do the same thing with a bali pop or a full jelly roll but be sure you are getting the 40 strip packabe. Hugs, Ann the traveling quilter back in Minnesota where it is now cool enough to need a heater. LOL!!!

Renata, probably because you read the post where Wendy snorted coffee up her nose.

Rosemary, welcome back. Where you been, we missed you?

Snort, snort... done that too... but, no... twice in a row I knocked over the cup by my keyboard when I had sworn for years I'd never keep a cup nearby and the two times I did, the keyboard took the hit. Since I bought my sewing machine, I mean, sewing computer, my cup stays far away...

Yes, Rosemary, welcome back! You jumped right back in, never missed a beat, here, though! :D :D :D

But how does the cappuccino go with the computer? :P

The cappuccino is sitting on the other side of the room--I have to get up to drink it, in between reading and chuckles. Ask me how I learned to keep liquids away from my computer...
I don't need to  :P 8)

No, shame but probably 20 mins cutting strips if that, and maybe 2 x 3/4 hr sessions piecing so not long. That includes reading posts on here :D

Wendy and Lorchen, your Jelly roll quilts are great. Wendy, as for quilting it - it seems to me that an all over design would work well as there is a lot of detail in the fabrics so the quilting won't show so much. Question is, how long did it take you, did you time yourself?

That top is lovely, Wendy!

What you see on the right of my picture is not a quilt, but a hanging made from scraps that covers the front of a bookcase. The room is South-facing with large windows on three sides, so everything would be exposed to the sun too much. The cover saves what's behind it, like books and FQs. :)

Nancy could not have said it better, Wendy! I feel the same way about your quilt and Lorchen's as well! :D

Pretty colors, Wendy. And I love the fabrics. I love it when you have beautiful colors at a distance, then get the surprise of really fun fabrics when you get closer. Yours are wonderful!
