Try Rob Appell's class on portrait quilts and follow the same principles for a dog. It's worked for me. :)

Susan Carlson was on show 801 and demonstrated using pieces of fabric and gluing them to create pictures. Her technique turns out remarkable pieces. Check her show out.

I want to create a quilt from a photo! It is a photo of my Dad's Black Lab. Her name is Ogee. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start? If you know of a show that TQS did, where this was covered? I have found a couple of patterns, BUT, they just don't look like Ogee ! I did a quilt from Sharon Malec of my golden retriever and it came out great! She doesn't have a pattern for a black lab. I have some of the skills, but not the skills or knowledge to create my own pattern from my own photo! Thank you!
