I think David Taylor used the technique. May be worth checking his website. :D

Checked all the ones you kind ladies have mentioned and none of them are the one that I was thinking about, so I also went through each show I have, and it's not there, so it must have been somewhere else. It was a technique where the artist took a number of different scraps, cut through them with the rotary cutter into little bits then they were placed onto the fabric piece and sewn down in one application, but I can't remember if she used tuille or something on top to hold them all down, because once it was done, it was a 3d effect. Ricky's technique was similar but not the one I was looking for. Thanks for trying!

Hi everyone.

Didn't Ricky demonstrate this technique when he showed how he put leaves on trees? It was one of those quilt challenges he and Alex had.

Ricky called it Scribble applique. It's in show # 302.

Wow, looks like I'll have some show watching to figure out which one it was! LOL. I seem to remember it was something to do with a tree I think. But thanks, and off I go to watch some awesome quilting shows. Thanks ladies. I'll let you know when I find it

Sorry, Renata, to get you on the wrong track
Don't mention it, Norma. It just means I did not read Laura's posting as carefully as I should have...

Now I have had time to see some of the Karen Eckmeier show again. We're not that much off track because she uses tulle on her villages. Remember she change the mood by using different colors of tulle. But maybe Rita has found the correct show.
Laura please come back and tell us.

I seem to recall Sally Ducto in ep. 302 doing something like that.
