The whispers route would be the route our Chinese Whispers challenge is taking (see the Chinese Whispers forum topic). 12 of us are participating in a Chinese Whispers challenge which will end up being displayed in a quilt show in Scotland in spring of 2014. So far, the whisper started with Maureen in Scotland, moved on to Marilyn in Idaho and now is on its way to Limbania in Arizona. (I'll be next up in Colorado. ) Would be a fun tour visiting many of my best friends!

Ya'll make me LOL, especially in the middle of the night when I can't sleep :D

What's the Whispers route? I saw an advertisement for a Jim West tour that included the Irish International Quilt Show that has me drooling. Airfare included, a lassie can't do that on her own for that price. Maybe have to plan this one for 2014. Anybody want to go?

Good, because I'll eat them if I have to, but have not really acquired a taste for grits, but love oatmeal (that's what you call 'porridge,' right?)! Hope the portrait class will come with room and board--come on, Nancy, why don't we both jump in and get adopted? Maybe Maureen with eyes behind her head will take us for a while too...

I'll go anywhere with you, Renata. Especially to visit Wendy, Maureen and all of our other friends!! Maybe a tour following the Whispers route...

We use rolled oats to make our oatmeal (porridge) for breakfast. Just finished mine. My new favorite way to make it is to cut up a ripe banana, add some cinnamon, a touch of brown sugar and some milk before it goes for a spin in the microwave. Mmmm.... Yum!

Oatmeal is what you use to make oakcakes, porridge is more usually made from rolled oats. We definitely need Maureen for checking out the nuances of this conundrum of terminology.

No your grits is disgusting, you can have porridge instead. You get your corn thrown on the floor! :D

Sounds good advice Ritzy, I've not tried using a hoop for quilting before. Off to look for one it's probably with my lost printer :D
That is how I was introduced to free motion embroidery, it works a treat, especially if the whole design in inside the hoop. I've almost certainly got a spare if you need one. and it is not down the back of the sofa! - it is in safe place in my sewing room :P
