That's a good question...I wonder about how they wear too, although I suspect if you heat set them they would last as long as a good dye. I'll be interested to see what others say about that.

How long do they hold up? My concern as the paint pens/ crayons /stampings/ inkings etc will not hold up after years and or multiple washings.

I was at Hobby Lobby when they had a 30% sale on markers, and found some faber-castell color burst paint pens. I've tried them on some detail work on fabric (the label says pernament on fabric paper, wood) and LOVE the brightness and very little bleed.
