We've all had wonderful teachers and mentors in our lives. There is always some creative character out there who has given us inspiration. Tell us who inspired you in your life. Maybe not just creatively, but in some other aspect as well. TQS ran into Maggie Winfield in Houston. Maggie is an artist who will inspire you just by the look on her face. What a great smile and look at those shoes!

The fun part is trying to guess which TQS member does what. To see all the answers, check out the comments section here.

Road to California is just a few weeks away. We thought we'd take a visit to last year's show to give you some inspiration. These are just a few of the amazing quilts that graced the walls of Road to California in 2010. There was everything from wholecloth miniatures to abstract design. The quality of the work every year just seems to get better and better. Take a look at some of the winners and see if you don't recognize a few familiar faces. Just push PLAY.

A tiny, picturesque village in Burgundy might seem the least likely place to find a woman who, while fine-tuning her French language skills, has also become passionate about quilting. However--as we all know--quilting has a way of finding us, no matter how distant (or circuitous) the journey. Over the years, TQS has featured many guests--including John Flynn, Pat Holly, Rami Kim, David Taylor--who have pursued entirely different careers before they discovered quilting. Shortly after leaving a recent European Patchwork Meeting, our roving reporters, Jim and Melinda Burt, were surprised to discover that the owner of the B&B where they were spending a few days just happened to be a "newbie" quilter!
