This year the TQS Dinner in Houston was held at the Don Patron Bar and Grill.  Over sixty TQS members showed up to celebrate with friends.  Carol Moellers was kind enough to share pictures of the evening, with guest appearances from Margo's thank you quilt, a Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangles sorting hat, and even a few gentlemen along for a good time.  They all had so much fun, a TQS convention might be in order for next year. What do you think?

Dana Lynch, Mary Holman, Bridge Lilja, Wanda Myers, Mary Kay Runyan, Cindy Bell Neville, Hanne-Grete Brink, and Karen Fitzpatrick make up the Amazing Eight.  A group of quilters from across the country, and across the sea, that decided to get together to make a quilt.  And what a quilt!

FriendLily Blossoming was created by the eight and was an amazing experience for them all.  Listen and watch Mary Kay describe how they accomplished their goal.

There's a rumor going 'round that there just might be a ninth quilter next year - stay tuned.

Dawn Siden (Scoopie) found that many people wanted to say thank you to Debbie and Clara for undertaking the half-square triangle exchange. So Dawn contacted one person in every country, territory in Australia, provence in Canada and state in the USA that participated in the exchange and asked them to make a block that represented that state, country, etc. These 64 blocks from our talented TQS members (and Alex!) are the result and a wonderful way to say "Thank You!"

The blocks were kept a secret (for six months) and presented at the TQS dinner in Houston.

Thank you to Dawn for the slideshow and all her hard work as well.
