Merrily Parker of Merrily We Quilt Along shows you how to baste a quilt using a long arm machine. There are some great tips for those of you who use a long arm and some thoughts you can convey to the person who might be doing the basting for you.
Red Wings is a 16" x 16" quilt that Sue Nickels created for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative Stanley Cup Quilt-Off 2011. This quilt raised $710 for the AAQI. This quilt is a "wholecloth" quilt which Sue quilted with red thread.

It is the second week of the The Alliance for American Quilts auction on Ebay. All proceeds from the sales of these quilts goes to support the AAQ and its projects, including Quilters' S.O.S. - Save our Stories and the Quilt Index.
Each quilt is 16" x 16" and reflects the theme, Alliances: People, Patterns, Passion which celebrates cooperative relationships that work toward a common goal.
The bidding for each quilt starts at $50. This auction will run from Monday, November 21 - Monday, November 28. You can pay by credit card, PayPal or check (you'll need to notify the AAQ if you want to pay by check.)
