This Wednesday is "leap year" day, February 29th. What are you doing to celebrate? Are you going to take a leap of faith, like TQS member sheilakg and try something new this year?
Here's what she has to say about her quilt, Taking the Leap: My art quilting guild challenged members to make a small auto-biographical quilt. The wood duckling leaping from her nest into the unknown captured a recurrent theme in my life.
Hey gang!!
Here is a short video about the quilt festival in Aschaffenburg, Germany where I have spent the past few days teaching. The sold out GALA dinner was fun! The decorations were southwestern. The wait staff and many of those who attended wore their western clothes. Thank you Anja Pundt and those involved in putting together this great quilt show!

It's another fabulous "twofer" show! First, award-winning machine quilter, Gammill spokesperson, author, and teacher Gina Perkes demonstrates how you can appliqué and quilt at the same time on the long-arm machine...and add a little "dazzle" from the bobbin as well. Then quilt artist, author, designer, and (fast-talking) teacher Pat Yamin visits the set, showing some of her quilts and divulging her brush with Hollywood fame. She also shows how to use templates to quickly and accurately cut and piece a two-patch pattern, using Robbing Peter to Pay Paul as an example. You'll pick up tons of tips on this info-packed episode.
See a snippet from a great show with Pat Yamin and Gina Perkes.

Here are some the quilts from the fabulous faculty at Road to California this year. Some of them have been guests here at TQS.
Have you watched their shows? Are they in your Star library?
Remember, you may still have a gift certificate for free shows and after seeing the artist's quilt, you may want to choose one of these.
Take a peek at my first video from this crazy 57 day, 12 Country tour. Meet a TQS member (Snowcat) who completed a beautiful Sue Garman BOM and see the excitement of students taking classes at the Main (pronounced Mine) Quiltfestival.
