Want to create the illusion of curves without having to piece them?  Why not try the Straight Out of Line ruler from Creative Grids®.

This ruler, designed by Karla Alexandercreates unique four-patch blocks with the illusion of curves. Ruler markings make it possible to cut squares from 4" – 10" squares – and every half-inch in between. The finished size of the pieced block is approximately 3/4" less than the cut block. Their exclusive embedded gripper strips hold the fabric while cutting when pressure is applied.

We were astounded by the member response and participation in Lauren Vlcek's embellishment sampler class. The class teaches you learn new and fun embellishing techniques. The lessons are for all members who would like to practice and improve their skills. The lessons are still there for everyone. Just click on "Classrooms" above and choose Lauren's section.

As part of the fun, we said that one lucky person would be eligible to win the original quilt created by Lauren for posting their work along the way.  We had over 160 entries!!

The lucky winner is:  northwind

Be sure to see more of Lauren's work in Episode 1206 coming in March!
