This week's zoom quilt is Happy Lady by Hyeon Joo Shin of South Korea.  The quilt was exhibited as part of the Large Wall Quilts - Home Machine Quilted exhibit at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2013.  It measures 60" x 79." Hyeon Joo wanted to express the happiness of a woman writing to a loved one. The piece was appliqued, pieced, woven, hand dyed, and free-motion quilted on a domestic machine.

We found this easy to make raw-edge circle quilt top tutorial (here) and thought it the perfect way to purge your stash while at the same time stitch a fun quilt sure to please you or any recipient.

Join us this week as we share the beauty and charm of Charleston, SC.  The city recently served as the location for the TQS 'On the Road' tapings.  It was voted by Conde Nast Traveler as the Top City in the U.S. in both 2011 and 2012.  From the beautiful ironwork, stunning gardens and divine food, Charleston is sure to charm you as well.

Not so impressed with your last attempt at preparing ribs? Why not whip up a batch of Judith Baker Montano's (Episode 1212) lip-smackin'-good Cody Spenser's Whiskey Ribs? The recipe, a family (and friends') favorite at Judith's home for years, is destined to please your hungry crowd as well. You'll find the recipe on our Projects page.

Here's a cute project we found on We All Sew from Bernina.  It's from Quilting Kari Carr of New Leaf Stitches and she calls it her "Straight and Narrow" Quilt. Kari gives you the free pattern for the project and shows you how to combine stitches to create a nifty method of "straight line" quilting that's a bit different from the norm.

Here's your chance to use the different stitches on your sewing machine.  It's also a great opportunity to use the stitch techniques you learned in "Name that Stitch" with Libby Lehman.
