Calling all Bay Area quilters and quilt lovers! Be sure to check out the upcoming Voices in Cloth exhibition to be presented by the East Bay Heritage Quilters on March 22 and 23.
The two-day show includes an exhibit of more than 200 new quilts, wearable art, award-winning works by the Mendocino Quilt Artists, and 30 contemporary wall quilts on themes centered around the WW II Home Front.
The exhibition's Crane Pavilion location is very fitting, as it is in the building where tanks and jeeps were produced; it is now part of the new Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historic Park.

We want to see your work, and as an incentive, we're offering you the chance to win one of FOUR Super Goodie bags (filled with lots of studio-audience giveaways) just for posting your work in Show and Tell by March 23. Winners will be announced in the Newsletter and Daily Blog on March 25.

It's someone's birthday today, and it isn't the pink one!

Learn the value of handwork from Renate Hiller, a fiber artist who connects the importance of using our hands with the way in which we understand and find value in ourselves and others. Renate is the co-director of the Fiber Craft Studio at the Threefold Educational Center in Chestnut Ridge, NY.
20 Petals was created by Karen Gloeggler for the Quilt Alliance TWENTY contest. Here's what she had to say about the quilt, "20 petals, 20 fabrics, congratulations on 20 years! I’ve been designing quilts with “rays” lately and the Quilt Alliance game me a reason to finally make one. This is my original paper-pieced pattern, designed a month ago especially for the Quilt Alliance and machine-pieced and quilted by me. I chose a flower motif because like a flower, the Quilt Alliance is vibrant, beautiful and will last forever, just as a perennial! Congratulations times twenty."
You can watch Karen in Episode 1405: Drawing from the Past: Jane Austen-Inspired Quilts.
