"Go Tell It at the Quilt Show!" is a Quilt Alliance project designed to capture the stories of quilts where quiltmakers gather. This interview was filmed at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas, in November 2016 and features Victoria Findlay Wolfe discussing her award-winning quilt, "Mr. Swirl E. Bones."
"Mr. Swirl E. Bones" won First Place in Machine Quilting the Modern Way at MQX New England, Judge's Choice at 2016 QuiltCon, and Third Place Innovative Pieced at the International Quilt Festival Houston 2016.
Victoria writes,
"Mr. Swirl E. Bones took several lives to become what he is now. Inspired by the Halloween panel, and a conversation about carnivals and dart throwing...By playing with negative space, both in design, quilting and the binding. I wanted to visually change the space and scale through design on the traditional lemoyne star."

Can you believe it! Tomorrow we in the US celebrate a day of Thanksgiving and there is so much to reflect on and be grateful for. For quilters it is the official count down to Christmas for those hand made gifts!! I for one have the pedal of my machine on light speed, LOL. Is Thanksgiving the official start of your shopping season or do you have a homemade gifts on your list. I have worked on place-mats, pillowcases, soup bowl cozies and wall hangings...and, I still have more to finish.
December 1st starts the 12 days of Christmas Give Away on Wooliemammoth.blogspot.com. Every year I save up patterns I have made and quilter friends who are purging their bookshelves pass on to me books/patterns for the give away. Come check it out. Looking for inspiration from fellow quilters, I checked out the November Gallery Exhibit at QuiltWorks in Bend, Oregon. This month's exhibit was small or miniature quilts. Which lately I have been motivated to stitch...more immediate satisfaction, LOL. Enjoy the slide show and I hope you also are inspired.
