The Diamond Star block is the fourth block for the Legacy Quilt Club.
"Softly Pa's fiddle sang in the starlight. The large, bright stars hung down from the sky. Lower and lower they came, quivering with music. The night was full of music, and Laura was sure that part of it came from the great, bright stars swinging so low above the prairie."
~ Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie, Ch. 4 "Prairie Day"

Be a part of the International Miniature Quilt Exchange
Jean Ameduri is the founder of Thimble and Tread Quilt Guild of Greater St. Louis (Ricky’s first quilt guild), quilting instructor, quilt lecturer and world traveler. In 1994, on her second trip to Japan on a quilting tour, she took a dozen miniature quilts with her and offered to exchange them with members of the Tokyo Quilt Guild. It was easy, she left her miniature quilt with a Japanese quilter and in exchange, they would send her a miniature quilt. Over the next year she received miniature quilts from her new friends in Japan. When she shared the exchange quilts with her guild, they wanted the same experience. So, in 1997 she arranged to have 12 members in her guild exchange miniature quilts with 12 quilters in Japan. The International Miniature Quilt Exchange was born.

Jean directed an even larger exchange in 2001. Recently, Jean got together with Ricky Tims to discuss doing it again and the seeds for a much higher profile exchange were planted. Ricky is spearheading the program in conjunction with TheQuiltShow.com. Now you can be a part of what is expected to be the largest exchange of quilts in quilt history. It is open to all members of TheQuiltShow.com.
We will continue to create partners (two-person teams) during all of 2017. Quilters have until March 2018 to complete their miniature quilts.
In the past few weeks over 170 USA Quilters have been teamed up with quilters from 22 Countries around the world. Information about the exchange has been posted in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Denmark and Africa. The guidelines are posted in the IMQE Community Announcement. We now have a waiting list of Quilters from around the world that need United States quilters to join the IMQE group.
The purpose of this event is to connect quilters worldwide. It’s not so much about the quilt you get in exchange as it is making a friend in another part of the world. Selected quilts will be featured in a special exhibition at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in the Fall of 2018.
1 International Quilter + 1 United States Quilter + A Passion for Quilting
= A Priceless Experience

David Taylor said he wanted to sell this quilt. Alex told him he shouldn't. He said he wanted to. Alex then said that if he was going to sell it, he had to sell it to her. "Sally at the Window" is an amazing work. The light and shadow remind Capt'n John of the work of Edward Hopper (see below). The quilting is fantastic and the movement he gets in the brick sidewalk always draws attention.
