This round robin quilt was created using no rules and was kept a secret from its owner. Featuring a feathered star, broderie perse, multiple borders and stunning quilting, could your quilt group do that and have it come out this beautifully?
Worth the Wait was on display as part of the Group exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2019.
Sarah Thomas and Alex Anderson discuss the use of rulers while quilting. They use the Q20 Longarm by BERNINA, but the discussion includes domestic machines using the same rulers. Listen in...
Barbara Black walks you through how to finish your Sizzle quilt. After putting all the pieces together, she walks you through her design decisions when it came to the quilting and how you can "audition" your own designs. And last, but not least, Barbara discusses the binding, sleeve, and label.
We also want to say a great big THANK YOU to Barbara for all her help this year. We couldn't have done it without her!
***Reminder!!! If you are a Star Member, you can download the Sizzle BOM patterns until the end of the year, 2019. After that, they will no longer be available on the site. Even if you aren't planning on making the quilt this year, don't forget to download the patterns.***
Nancy Goodman used just about every color on the color wheel in her quilt Screen Test. The quilted grid work in the corners of the quilt inspired the name of this quilt, which won an Honorable Mention at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2019 in the Abstract, Small category.
Jayme's quilt, Down Under Wonder, was created using her Boondoggle Ruler and some fabulous Aboriginal fabrics from down under.

Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry took a photograph outside the Pompidou Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris. Ten years later she used modern technology to turn that photograph into a quilt, along with hand-dyed fabric and thread painting. The gentleman in the painting looks so realistic, you can almost hear him play his instrument.
Hanging at the Pompidou was on display as part of the People, Portraits, and Pictures exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2019.

Jayme's quilt, Mama Love, will make your heart sing. How can you not love a mama with her baby giraffe? And, what a great use of batik fabrics.
