After reviewing all of our rooms - I am struck by many of the similarities - like the white furniture. Any other thoughts?

In one portion of the exhibit they had a transparent glass ceiling. Chihuly glass pieces were placed on the ceiling and lights shone down from above.
Tomorrow I'll show you some art vases and chandeliers. Don't you love the colors?
Wow - and even more!!!!
I am on the road for Bernina this week - First stop Dallas TX - HEY TQS members - THANK YOU FOR COMING!!! Tomorrow I am taking off to St Louis - then Denver. I LOVE traveling for Bernina and getting to meet YOU! Also, I was asked about Houston Quilt Festival tonight - and I just got the word - it is a GO!!! See you at the TQS booth!
The answers to the questions are San Francisco, the de Young Museum, and The Chihuly Exhibit. Dale Chihuly is a marvelous artist working mainly in glass. The objects are colorful, diverse, huge in many cases, and magical. To give you good quality pictures, I can't use the animator. so I will show them in a series of blogs. (Etiquette demands, because of our shared history, that I must first caution you that Dale is NOT a pirate.)
This is a picture (of a picture) of Chihuly at work.
Here is a different angle on the piece outside the de Young as you enter.
Here is the first exhibit. Very striking. You just want to pull up a chair and sit and look. No chair was offered so come back for more pictures tomorrow.
So, we are at the tapings in Colorado and Lilo, the TQS Wizard, tells me about something I have to see. She loves it and it is amazing. So I talked Alex's parents into going with me. (Alex is in Dallas tonight). So where did Lilo send me? From these pictures, can you figure out the City? By the way, the apartments on the side of the hill were the second place Alex and I lived after we were married.
I then give you a hint of where I was if you are a local. Then I give you a big hint of what I saw. Come back tonight for the pictures. Lilo was right, it was spectacular. Even with my photographic skills you will enjoy the show.--John
Our TQS family mourns the loss of Nanabear of Buena Vista, Colorado. Leslie passed-on yesterday after a most valiant battle with cancer. Leslie was an ardent supporter of The Quilt Show and has graced our audience with her presence during tapings here in La Veta. Leslie loved animals, loved quilting and loved life and her smile was a beacon of hope and compassion everytime I saw her. Although I know there are many, many people out there who have shown courage and dignity in the face of a terminal illness, but I don't know that I have had the pleasure of knowing one such as NANABEAR and MY life is richer for knowing her!!!! Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Justin
It was Alex who got to pick theme day this year. Guess what she picked? Yup - Pirate Day! Shiver me timbers and blow me down if we didn't have such a great time. We even came up with a new pirate chant: "Two and an eight, two and an eighth!" You will be enlightened on this in Series Four, but just be sure, Alex will never forget that measurement again! Enjoy!
Oh - and Miss Elly Sienkiewicz's show will not have pirates, but she sure put on a good show for us when she arrived in her bonnet.
In episode 302 TQS had the ultimate quilt challenge - Angie (our director's wife) was pulled into the last segment against every bone in her body! So THIS round she showed up with her finished challenge - Nice Job Angie - To watch episdoe 302 go here and remember, It's a NEW Day, Everyday!!!
Here are some more of your quilting spaces...............
