OK - so you didn't get "tricked" by the master of jokesters (Ricky) and his trusty side kick - but there was time for sightseeing before we met up with this years 2008 legend. Look at what we viewed in Washington DC.

John, Adair and I were in Torrance, California this weekend for a family graduation and look what we found at the Torrance Bakery in old Torrance - who said an election can't be sweet and tasty?! And, BTW - the bakery goods there were incredible!!!!
OK Gang - We want a head count! - Who are we going to see in the TQS booth? And keep in mind that 1:00PM each day is the "official" gathering time for members to meet up in the booth - of course anytime is fine with us! (Can you hear the impatient rapping of fingers for this next weekend?) AND if this weren't cool enough, my kids and extended family are going to be there - it's so exciting!
Yippee - it is our first TQS challenge - WE heard all your ideas and we loved them - We took the lead of mknnavy90 and here is the theme- "Remember December"! We've made this one achievable by everyone because we know you're busy. Go here to get the details, and we can't wait to see what YOU come up with.
Are you going to Houston for the International Quilt Festival? It's time to go over the list of items for the suitcase. Clothes and toiletries have of course not been forgotten. But have you packed your comfy shoes and camera? You will definitely need comfy shoes for all of the miles of walking. And need we mention how handy a camera can be for inspiration and memories of times shared with quilting buddies? But most of all, don't forget to pack your TQS badge.
Every day TQS members will be meeting in our booth (#508/609) at 1:00pm. Don't be the only one there without your badge. To find and print out the star pattern badge, visit Projects here. See you all next week!
AccuQuilt has announced at Fall Quilt Market that they are releasing two new dies featuring Ricky Tims' designs. The new designs, Arabesque #1 and Arabesque #2, fit into 8.5"-10" blocks and feature motifs that can be utilized in a multitude of ways. The designs, seen in the image above, are the same motifs that will be featured in Ricky's new JWD quilt pattern to release next Spring.
Regarding this particular quilt Ricky said, "Talk about a time saver. I cut out all the applique pieces in less than 10 minutes!" Ricky is known for utilizing diagonal designs that can be arranged in numerous ways to create different effects. The Arabesque dies will put this principle into practice. See The Daily Blog on September 3rd, 2008 to see these same designs used in a different way.
