Just when you think you have have seen it all!!!
Just when you think you have have seen it all!!!
There are famous quilters who have been inspired by subway grates, floor tiles, and wrought iron gates when it came to designing their quilts.
What is the most unusual thing that has inspired your quilting? Did you use it to create the blocks? Was it the quilting motif? Did it inspire an applique design?
Submit a comment and let TQS know what everyday object gave you inspiration.
We asked Alex to name the five top questions she is asked when she teaches.
One of the top five is "How do you store your fabric?" So, we are asking YOU, How do you store your fabric? Do you use plastic boxes, metal baskets or open bookshelves?
And, Where do you store it? Is it in your sewing room, under your bed, in the oven?
Just submit a comment and let use know where you stash your stash.
It's REAL!!!!! It's here!!!!!!! Oh My Gosh - We really have a magazine!! Thank you AQS for having faith in Ricky and me. Thank you Jan Magee for understanding our vision and thank you Joyce Robinson for tying it all together with such a beautiful bow. We are truly blessed to be living The Quilt Life....and if you are reading this, so are you!
As you probably know - Alex and I have started a new quilt magazine (The Quilt Life aka TQL) in partnership with AQS. Jan Magee is our editor and Joyce Robinson is Art Director. The first issue landed in our hands over the weekend - we'll not my hands, but Jan made sure a copy was sent to Lilo (TQS Wizard) who lives in Colorado Springs. My flight to Dubai was leaving out of the Springs so Lilo met me at the airport so I could see this new baby before leaving on my trip - thank you Lilo.
I'm taking off - the magazine is taking off - and it will be landing at Barnes and Noble and other news stands in a matter of days.
All I can say is - you'll won't have ever seen anything like it. We are all proud parents. Did you subscribe? This will be one to keep on your coffee table and read from lid to lid.
Up Up and away!
Tired of the same old face at the table?
The show in the tutorial will appear jerky because it is a video of a video, but the information is good.
