G’day! Join us (in Episode 612) on a “journey of design,” as quilt artist, teacher, and author, Gloria Loughman, shares the process and methods she uses to capture the natural beauty of her native Australia in her amazing, dreamlike quilts. Discover how she “builds” each quilt with fabric, paint, and thread, and the secrets of her machine-appliqué technique. Then Alex and Ricky stop by to visit California quilter, Jenny Mostek, whose passion for quilting outgrew her space, so…she bought the house next door! You don’t want to miss this episode!

Now that Little Bear has been revealed, there's still a bit of mystery to Big Bear. Some of you have guessed a medicine hut or a sweat lodge. This video reveals a new element in the project.

Join us for an up-close and personal visit with David Taylor--his town, his sewing room, his show opening and his quilts.  (David was our guest on show #406 which is open this weekend for everyone.)

In Part 1 Lilo shows TQS members why David and so many others love this town. Filled with history, charm, great restaurants, and shopping, we consider it to be a definite destination spot for those visiting Colorado.  Now if they could only get a quilt store, we would definitely be in heaven!  To visit Steamboat Springs with Lilo click here Be sure to click on the small pictures to get a full view.

Stay tuned for Part 2 (David's quilt exhibition) in Tuesday's eNewsletter, June 8, 2010.

It's Drawing Day...a worldwide initiative to get everyone to draw for the sake of art.   TQS is once again joining the effort and has opened a Show & Tell area to put up your drawings.  We not only want your drawing, but we want to become a "worldwide refrigerator" and see the drawings of your family.  Here is a chance to encourage the creativity of your kids and grandkids and give them an opportunity to see their work on the web.  Draw and together upload your pictures by:

1.  Scanning your picture and uploading it to our Show & Tell area

2.  Taking your camera and getting a picture of the drawing and then uploading it.

Need more help? Watch the video on "Uploading Your Pictures" by clicking here.

Your drawing uploaded to our site automatically enters you for a chance to WIN a special quilting goody bag!

Kids seldom need ideas, but if you need some ideas: show us a quilt block, a quilting pattern, a flower in your yard, a self portrait, a bird from your area, or a tree.  (This will be for the whole family, so keep it family safe.)  If this is outside your comfort area, then even better.

The worldwide "Drawing Day" goal is 1 million pictures.  Last year we reached 145 pictures.  Let's top that!  Our goal at TQS is several hundred pictures.  Can we reach 500?
