Haven't visited TQS for a while?  Here are a few things you might have missed.

For you more traditional folks:

Blue Skies Over California - an exhibit from Long Beach Featuring antique indigo & white quilts.

For the Love of Turkey Red - an article about the introduction of red fabrics into the quilting palette when it was so difficult to produce.

And let's not forget Alex' classes on Machine & Hand Applique in the Classrooms.

For you in the digital world:

Printing on Fabric - in the classroom and the Forum with Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero as she teaches members about printing on fabric.

Digital Imagery - with Lura Schwarz Smith and Kerby Smith - a delightful slideshow featuring stunning quilts.

What's Ahead?

TQS is always forging ahead and coming up you'll see advanced machine quilting videos with Patsy Thompson and piecing classes from Alex.    There will be new shows featuring Frieda Anderson, Judy Mathieson, and Marcia Stein.  Stay tuned.  It's a New Day! Every Day! at TQS.

The tapings for a new season are on there way.  Boulder is beautiful place with mountains, clouds, and even balloons in the sky.  Our friends from La Veta filled the audience and made the first day a lot of fun.

Recently TQS had the opportunity to visit the home of quilt designer, Renee Peterson. Renee's love of traditional quilts with a modern twist is evident the moment you enter her very colorful, beautifully decorated home, as you can see from the photo opposite. Quilters will be delighted: Renee's studio space is just as inspirational and impressive. Join us for the first of a two-part visit to this Denver-area artist's home and studio.

It's been a crazy summer and I have tons of cool quilting things under my belt including: Quilt Colorado in Estes Park, my Super Quilt Seminar in Rocklin, CA, a visit to Bernina in Chicago, teaching at Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in Oregon and a La Veta Quilt Retreat! Nonetheless, two weeks ago I finally got Big Bear hauled out to Autumn Rock and Justin and I got the poles raised for Big Bear. Now the mystery should be solved - even if it's still not complete. I finally got a short video edited to share with you. Hope you will enjoy the progress.

Thanks Susan for reading the instruction manual and video taping our feeble attempts to construct this massive (24' across, over 30' tall) teepee.

The music is Drum Circle from my CD - Sacred Age

Believe it or not it's that time again. Time to shoot another round of shows! Whoo-hoo! It looks like we'll be taping our 92nd - 106th shows. Can you believe it?

Today the migration to Boulder begins as Alex, Ricky, Justin, John and the crew migrate to Boulder, Colorado. We have seven days and fourteen shows on the horizon. Stay with us each day here on the Daily Blog to keep up with our shenanigans. Raise your hand if you have tickets to attend one day.

Hello Quilt Campers.  This week's Make It Monday project is a fun and easy bolster pillow from curbly.com .  This clever pillow project makes use of those old and out of style towels you might be tempted to toss out.  Click here for the directions.

Be sure to check out each week's project on our Projects page here.   Share your creative versions of any of our projects in Show and Tell here.
